postheadericon Invisi-Cat Unleashed!

Barnie was the originator of the Invisi-Cat Shield, but he seems to have outgrown it. He made good use of it in his day. He was an expert at slithering in the shield, ready and waiting for his next victim.

Quincy has now inherited the Invisi-Cat Shield, and he utilizes it just about daily. He takes the job very seriously. He still has a few things to learn, though.

The first thing would be how to enter the shield. I have yet to catch him with the camera – but he uses both front paws, his face, a back paw and his tail to rumple up the shield and find an entry port. Barnie wins finesse points here.

Quincy also needs to learn that Barnie might not be the best attack subject, being a cat and being wise to the ways of the shield and all, but… he tries.

(sorry for the photo quality on some of these – cell phone photos!)

Meanwhile, Barnie ignores Invisi-Cat Quincy and hops up to the windowsill above.

Finished surveying the outside world, Barnie hops down from the sill and walks right past Invisi-Cat Quincy.

Apparently another cat is too smart for this. Dogs are better subjects.

One annoying and cute thing the dogs do is crowd in the bathroom when I am getting ready to leave. It was OK with one dog, a little cozy with two, and now with three plus an Invisi-Cat, it is pretty crowded. It did make it a little easier for Quincy to pick his victims, though.

Remember the Invisi-Cat Shield?

I was talking about this amazing invention on Twitter recently, how I have missed several shots of Quincy, who activates the Invisi-Cat shield daily in hopes of snaring a dog. (Credit to Barnie for inventing the original Invisi-Cat Shield.)

Twitter pal tjw003 said “love invisicat shield pics!” — this one is for you. ;)

Quincy’s new item of interest: our new foster dog Burro

This caused much snickering from the humans.

In other news

Somebody got a new dog bed…

Much happiness ensued.

postheadericon Invisi-cat Shield Revisited

After an early start using Barnie’s Invisi-cat Shield, Quincy has rediscovered its potential.

I haven’t been able to catch him on ‘film’ yet, but his favorite victim has been Argos. It was the same for Barney. Probably because Argos always has to lay on a rug or pillow and is an easy target for cat pranks…

postheadericon New Kid in Town

As we learned yesterday, Barnie was feeling a little left out. Someone has taken over his Invisi-Cat Shield. Just who is this new guy, and what do the other pets think about the situation?

First Argos.
He has actually shown the least interest, especially if it is nap time.

Next Sophie.
She is always the referee/nanny/babysitter. Remember when Barnie joined us?

So intense. Checking out the new guy.

Next, Greta
She has been a little cranky. I would say it is because she is 19 years old, but she has pretty much been this way her whole life. But we love her anyway.

And finally, Barnie!
The playmate he has been searching for. Maybe…?

So the new guy – still kind of nameless, but considering Quincy or Pete – is pretty cute. Warning… Cute overload:

postheadericon Move over, Barnie

As usual, summer has me going in too many directions at once. That, and my laptop decided that it was done doing wi-fi, so I have been working on that situation.

And well… a few new things have been happening in our lives.

We left off with Barnie cozy-ing up with Greta. Wow – this was a first! Some people suggested that it was because of the Cat Mat – that they couldn’t resist sharing the space. I would like to believe that, and there might be an element of truth, but… the real reason is below.

Barnie fills us in on getting squeezed out.

Barnie asks Sophie - can we talk?

An imposter has moved into my space.

Barnie loves his Invisi-Cat Shield. Now it is being used by someone else.

rawr.

Next update coming soon…!

postheadericon What’s mine is mine, what’s yours is mine

Barnie loves the whole knitting thing. All of that yarn, the subtle movement of the yarn over the needles… he sits and watches carefully. Yarn is so very, very tempting. He shows great restraint most of the time. But if looks could catch yarn, he would.

This was a cold rainy day and well… he just couldn’t resist getting closer and checking out this project. Plus, he looked so cute. So I let him get cozy, but only temporarily. This project is for my daughter.

What? Not Mine?

After I finished knitting this piece, I washed it and blocked it, which is really  just letting it lay flat to fully dry. This process helps the stitches relax/even out and it needed to be washed. This “new” scarf was formerly the first scarf I ever made, and my daughter wore it often this winter. But after a while, it seemed too skinny, so she and I ripped it out (gleefully) and I made this wider one in a new pattern.

As the scarf was off being washed, Barnie utilized a new Invisi-Cat Shield to plot his next move.

I'll wait

I come back to find this. Not only had Barnie found the was-clean-now-drying scarf, he centered himself perfectly on it. Then he took a luxurious bath (note the cat-licked hair along his back. egh.) and fell fast asleep.

zzz

Yes, this will do nicely. Thank you.

What

Is there a problem?

postheadericon Barnie Rules

Now that the newness of Argos has worn off, Barnie has to be a little more creative to keep himself occupied.

Fear me and my Invisi-cat Shield

Not getting anywhere using his regular Invisi-cat Shield, Barnie opts for his mobile Invisi-cat Shield, pictured below. He immediately pounces on, and holds captive, a more compliant subject.

I rule.

Barnie is rolling around in the mobile Invisi-cat Shield, having fun and creating a ruckus with his new prey, Argos’ toy bunny. Barney is soon discovered by his prey’s owner.

Game on. Errr wait a minute...
