postheadericon Saying Goodbye. And Hello!

Well, it happened. My first Greyhound foster, Hammer, was adopted last night!

It turned out to be quite a party, and I’ll be honest… I miss him. BUT! I couldn’t have chosen a more perfect family for him! We are all very happy. I am going to write more about this later today on VetMed Connect, but for now, here are some photos.

Barnie is kidding. (Well, sort of.)

  • That just about sums it up! Our cat might add a “don’t let the door hit you” on the end… :)

Congratulations to you, Janet, you did it! It is hard to say good bye, but look how wonderful his new family is, and don’t you just have the warm fuzzies all over, knowing you helped him find them? It is very bittersweet, but so rewarding at the same time. Nicely done!

  • AboutVetMed:

Thanks so much for your comments, everyone! I am so happy. And have received some wonderful-happy reports from his new family, who is just in love with Hammer. I was actually doing OK at the adoption party until Hammer became super-glue dog. The worried look in his eyes! Oh, that was hard. :-/ But he just didn’t realize what good things were in store for him. I whispered it in his ear before he left. I think he is getting it now! :)
