Helping shelter pets, one blog post at a time
Some of you may recognize the puppy face to the right. Especially if you join in the conversation on Twitter. That is Brody, muse and sometimes-troublemaker, featured on veterinarian Dr. Jessica V’s blog, pawcurious.
What is he doing here? Well, it is kind of a long story.
How this got started
My pal Romeo the Cat recently issued a challenge: it was the Appreciate your Shelter/Rescue Challenge! Simple enough. Show your local shelter some love and appreciation. Donate some old towels, some food, volunteer to foster animals, things like that.
(I must digress here for a second. While at Romeo’s site, please check out the Wake Up Tactics – no cat funnier than Romeo bugging his human staff for breakfast.)
Back to serious shelter awareness story
Dr V contacted me about doing something for Romeo’s challenge. But what? She said “blogathon.” A what-a-thon? Basically this is blogging for 24 hours, accepting pledges for your cause, in this case, a local shelter.
Unfortunately, I have other time commitments, but Dr V ran with this idea. She is going to do one post an hour, for 24 hours, on her pawcurious.com blog.
Me? I am going to be “support staff” – blogging help, article assistance, and donating some bone beads similar to these, and some dog and cat face beads, too.
To kick this off, I interviewed Dr. V on my about.com site. You can read it here:
